Week of Inspiration: Scribbled Dreams

The most common challenge that arises when one starts blogging/writing etc. is how to start and what to start with. I can vouch from personal experiences that writing the first post or sentence for your story/novel is daunting. Thus, we spend hours analysing our ideas, researching it and making it perfect. This is when the problem arises, in this hassle of researching we forget to start.

It does appear productive, the researching and everything. But it’s an illusion you create (or your mind does unconsciously). All I am trying to convey here is take the first step. Write it and publish it. It doesn’t have to be perfect to the point. In the beginning, you will make mistakes, you aren’t perfect, nobody is. Learn from your mistakes, it is a beautiful journey. Start small but start. Remember to reach, you must start somewhere. Do it. And if you do go looking remember, inspiration is everywhere you just need a different perspective.

Another problem faced by bloggers is consistency. I have seen many people post 3-4 posts initially and then give up as they are not getting the results they desire. Let me break the bubble for you darling, you will not wake up to 10,000 pageviews. You must put in effort, for others to take the effort to read your work. Always remind yourself that they can be doing anything and yet they take 2 minutes out of their time to read your work, so make it worth their while.

Be consistent. You don’t have to post 3 times every day, every week as a matter of fact don’t do that, that’s irksome. But one or two posts a week is good. And if you don’t know what to post about then don’t waste time thinking way too much into it. Inspiration will come to you. Go for a walk, read a book or do something you have always wanted to do and never had the right time to. All I can say is live the life you want to and you will have plenty to write about.
